Mercedes Sprinter heater bushes – how to fit!?

Sprinter heater bushes

By littledaddy posted Apr 2nd 2010 at 3:54 PM

Hi,

My first post is a question!  The heater has stopped working in my Sprinter Van – all the power is there to the controls but no fans/heat.  I’ve ordered new bushes off ebay, removed the dash and the unbolted the control panel (still attached to the pulley controls though) – but how do i fit the bushes!?

Thanks

Fuel Saving Tips -2

By Vanatic posted Apr 1st 2010 at 9:19 AM

We continue with our fuel saving tips.

red pump

1. Turn off the A/C

Consider turning off the air conditioner, opening the windows and enjoying the breeze. It may be a tad warmer, but at lower speeds you’ll save fuel.

2. Empty out your vehicle

Regularly check your vehicle and see what you don’t need to be carrying around.

3. Maintain a steady speed

Keep a constant speed in the gear corresponding to the speed.

4. Don’t rev the engine

Revving the engine just before turning off the ignition costs extra fuel and may cause engine damage

5. Get your vehicle serviced regularly

Changing spark plugs regularly can save a lot and a poorly tuned engine can increase fuel consumption by up to 50%

If you’ve got some other tips then let me know.

Fuel Saving Tips

By Vanatic posted Mar 31st 2010 at 11:18 AM

We can always stand to get a bit more out of each gallon.

Try using these tips.

1. Slow down

One of the best ways to save gas is to simply reduce your speed. As speed increases, fuel economy decreases exponentially.

2. Check your tire pressure

Under-inflated tires are one of the most commonly ignored causes of bad MPG. Tires lose air over time (about 1 psi per month) and due to temperature (1 psi for every 10 degrees); under-inflated tires have more rolling resistance, which means you need to burn more fuel to keep your vehicle moving.

3. Check your air filter

A dirty air filter restricts the flow of air into the engine, which harms performance and economy. Air filters are easy to check and change; remove the filter and hold it up to the sun. If you can’t see light coming through it, you need a new one.

4. Accelerate with care

Race starts are an obvious fuel-waster — but that doesn’t mean you should crawl away from every light. If you drive an automatic, accelerate moderately so the transmission can shift up into the higher gears. Stick-shifters should shift early to keep the revs down, but don’t lug the engine — downshift if you need to accelerate

5. Hang with the trucks

Ever notice how, in bad traffic jams, cars seem to constantly speed up and slow down, while trucks tend to roll along at the same leisurely pace? A constant speed keeps shifting to a minimim

How to buy a VW Bus – Buyers Guide

By Nick posted Feb 18th 2010 at 8:58 PM

Driving a VW bus is pretty cool, but buying one can be a challenge sometimes just like buying any other type of car. You have to decide what you are exactly looking for, what you are willing to pay and what are your must-haves. Luckily there’s some good literature on this topic, such as the “VW Bus Buyers Guide” by Richard Copping.

And if you are lucky enough to have an iPhone you might even want to have a look at the iPhone app called “VW Bus – The Essential Buyer’s Guide” by Veloce Publishing. It’s stuffed with hints on what to watch out for when buying a VW bus and the dozen of pictures illustrate the author’s hints pretty good. Just watch this testimonial video to see the app in action:

I’ll probably give this app a shot and use when looking out for my next vw bus. And everytime the salesperson is trying to play games with me, I can just pull out the pictures in the app… ;)

So what do you watch out for when buying a VW bus or any other van?

blogs and communities. The netiquette was originally developed by users for users to guarantee a pleasant, conflict-free and constructive exchange.
Our netiquette borrows heavily from the netiquette of the German Usenet, passed in 1997 and mainly offers the following:

  1. Don’t forget, that there’s another human being on the other side of the conversation.
  2. Think first, post second.
  3. Use email for personal contact.
  4. Make it short.
  5. Visuals are important.
  6. Make use of the subject line and attachments.
  7. Avoid one-sided advertisement.
  8. Address others politely.
  9. Many prefer the use of real names.
  10. Observe copyrights und laws.
  11. Respect the privacy of others.

Please respect these rules when communicating with others to make everyone’s experience enjoyable.
