Ad van Hoff receives an emergency call-out in the middle of the night. Damaged containers have been discovered during loading at the Port of Rotterdam. This calls for rapid help, otherwise the goods will not reach their destination on time. This is generally no problem for PROGECO’s container service specialists. Ad van Hoff, the Managing Director and company founder, quickly puts together a team. They set out in one of four brand-new Mercedes-Benz Citan. “We have to get to the port quickly and safely. That is why we have placed our trust in the reliable vehicles from Mercedes-Benz for years”, explains Ad van Hoff. “The new Citan vans are the perfect addition to our Sprinter fleet. They are equipped with all of the necessary special tools and serve as agile ’dockworkers’. This makes my employees even more reliable and flexible.”
PROGECO’s 160 container specialists also need to be fast and flexible. “For most transport companies and shipping companies it is generally more cost-effective to call us than risk delays in the delivery chain”, explains Ad van Hoff. “In addition, our fast and reliable service is in high demand for refrigerated containers. These generally transport sensitive foodstuffs which must not spoil when being transported around the world. That is why my workers repeatedly check the container cooling during the day and night. If the cooling fails, we are always there and can immediately begin repairs.” The Port of Rotterdam is one of the world’s largest import and export ports. So it is no surprise that PROGECO repairs and services 1,000 containers per day on average. The specialists also provide the services elsewhere: PROGECO works at 16 other ports in France, Belgium and Germany.
