The small rescue sticker is applied near the tank cover and on the opposite B-column. It is printed with a QR code which rescue services can scan in the event of an accident, providing them with the vehicle’s rescue card. This rescue card contains all of the vehicle’s specific design details such as the position of the airbags, the battery and the fuel tank. This lets the rescuers know where they can safely use the hydraulic rescue cutters, for example.
The Crosswind Assist is an important safety feature, especially for vans. When the sensors of the ESP electronic stability program detect strong gusts of wind, the system utilizes targeted interventions to correct the vehicle’s course and keep it in the lane by braking the wheels on the windward side of the vehicle. The system is a standard feature on the new Vito and also on the latest generation of the Sprinter. Furthermore, the Crosswind Assist can now be retrofitted on many other Sprinter models. This retrofitting procedure can be completed within only one hour.
