Since its launch in 1995 until the end of 2013, approximately 1.2 million Mercedes-Benz Vitos were sold. With good reason. Customers all over the world appreciate its diversity, economy and safety. Now its all-round improved successor is coming: The new Vito. It is on course for victory. As Volker Mornhinweg, the Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans announced: “After the Sprinter we are now making the new Vito our second world vehicle.” It has already secured a top position in the mid-size vans segment between 2.5 t and 3.2 t gross vehicle weight. “The new Vito is a perfect example of the successful technology transfer within Daimler AG: It brings together our 120 years of experience with commercial vehicles, our technological lead with safety and assistance systems from the passenger vehicle portfolio and our group-wide expertise in efficiency”, said Dr. Dieter Zetsche at the world premiere of the new Vito in Berlin.
Versatility and economy
The Vito can be better customized to its users’ needs than ever before. It is available in three different versions: The Panel Van, the Dualiner and the Tourer, and also in three different lengths with two different wheelbases.
On average, the new Vito is approximately 20% more economical than its predecessor.
The new Vito also plays a leading role in terms of safety. The Vito Panel Van is the only vehicle in its class equipped with airbags and seat belt warning for the driver and passenger as standard features. Also included as standard features: Attention Assist, a fatigue warning system, automatic tire pressure monitoring and the Crosswind Assist which keeps the Vito on course despite gusty wind. Furthermore, the Vito can also be equipped with an array of additional assistance systems. Completely new and unique among vans: The Active Park Assist, the Blind Spot Assist and the Lane Keeping Assist. The all-round new and improved Vito: Equipped with state-of-the-art features and comfortable equipment, it sets to take the world of vans by storm with revolutionary dynamics and diversity.
