As in previous years, Mercedes-Benz once again rewards the most creative van lettering in 2016 with the “Stars of the Trades” and a Mercedes-Benz Vito.
When the photographer Alexander Heinrichs drives his Mercedes-Benz V 250 through Aschaffenburg it almost looks as though a giant camera with its lens were rolling along the road. His creative van print creates this illusion: A large camera decorates both sides of his van, directly above the rear wheels. This looks as though a constantly zooming lens were powering the V 250. The van’s design looks like it was created just for the “Stars of the Trades 2016”. The competition rewards especially creative and professional van designs and is organized by the Aktion Modernes Handwerk e. V. in cooperation with Mercedes-Benz. This year’s resonance was fantastic: 394 trade companies submitted photos of their vans. Ten finalists were then selected.
Creative design, high quality implementation, high functionality, high level of recognition and a clear link to the trade services offered: These were some of the criteria used to select the winners of the “Stars of the Trades 2016”. The competition also focused on the professional and modern use of vehicle advertising for trades – regardless of whether a wrap, partial applications or lettering. A jury of ten renowned members of the trades, advertising technology, marketing and design were responsible for the final decisions. In addition, the vehicle duel online game gave the public the opportunity to vote for personal favorites – resulting in multiple winners. The main prize ultimately went to the painter Günter Schiefelbein with his “freshly painted” vans and the public’s choice prize to TOTAL NORMAL BIKES from St. Ingbert.
