Following the tracks of “Casa Nomade” – a house in a Sprinter.

Thanks to their camper van, Glória and Renato are able to satisfy their longing for new adventures. From Argentina to Alaska, no destination is too far away for them.

Since they got to know each other, Glória Tupinambás and Renato Weil have been travelling across numerous countries on all continents. The couple spent years working for newspapers and magazines and they have always experimented with different travel options: by train, car, motorcycle or on foot. “Gradually, the holidays turned out to be too short to satisfy our passion for travelling”, the Brazilian couple remembers. Something had to change, not only in terms of their travelling activities, but in terms of their entire lives. In order to finance their new life “on the road”, they decided to make travelling their profession. And with Mercedes-Benz as their sponsor, they were able to launch Casa Nomade. This exclusive partnership is meant to prove the ability of the Sprinter to cope with the extreme climatic conditions of Brazil.

Whether they are in the forest or the desert, the two Brazilians are inseparable.

The couple from Brazil left their old lifestyle behind. However, since they cherished the privacy of a home and wanted to carry theirs along, choosing the right vehicle was an extremely important decision for them. “The vehicle is not supposed to carry normal loads, but its function is to be our travelling companion”, says Glória. For their purposes, the economical Sprinter is nearly perfect – not least because of its huge loading capacity. It took five months of hard work in the garage until the conversion of the Sprinter into a mobile home was complete. Obviously, the Brazilian couple feels really comfortable in their new home – the Casa Nomade, as they lovingly call their Sprinter.

The USA were one of the many destinations of Casa Nomade.

Worthy of the name ‘mobile home’.

In the interior of the Sprinter, you find everything a nomad may desire. A generator provides the Casa Nomade with sufficient electricity for the fridge, the air conditioning system and the washing machine. Cool air, drinks and fresh clothes are a must in the burning heat of South America. Besides, their large gas stove allows them to create culinary master pieces. Below the spacious bed, there is a storage space for a motorcycle which is accessible from the outside and makes it easier for them to explore South America’s overcrowded big cities.

A fruitful partnership.

Because of their journalistic background, the two were the perfect choice for Mercedes-Benz and thanks to their sponsor they were able to enjoy plenty of adventures already. In order to ensure that the couple will always stay mobile on their journeys, Mercedes-Benz takes care of all maintenance and repair costs in Brazil for the converted Sprinter. And of course, the Brazilians make sure that their Sprinter is checked and maintained on a regular basis. This allows them to enjoy their travels without worries. Those who want to see more can follow the activities of the couple on the Facebook page of Mercedes-Benz Vans Brazil.
