The Marco Polo in the Concept variant offers numerous digital control capabilities. Let’s raise the curtain on this connected home on four wheels.

Smart technology meets stylish design.

What might the future of camping look like? Do you see yourselves cranking with great effort, looking for the right lever in a kneeling position or sitting hunched up in an uncomfortable camp chair after having completed the unnerving preparatory works? Or would you rather have a fully connected digital vehicle which on a simple command automatically extends the awning, turns your seat to the correct position, plays relaxing music and dims the lights to create a beautiful atmosphere? The new Marco Polo in the Concept variant makes this very vision of the future come true. For tech fans, features such as automated procedures, intelligent networking and efficient energy use were integrated into the vehicle. With this motorhome, Mercedes-Benz makes it possible for drivers to enjoy maximum convenience and advanced functionality combined with stylish design.

MBUX: talking about the Concept Marco Polo.

The Marco Polo includes numerous features which turn it into a genuine connected home. Via Smartphone or infotainment system, all functions can be controlled from a single location. In future, nobody will have to spend time searching around in the instruction manual for the right button. One of the innovations introduced is the intelligently connected multimedia system MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience). It enables the user to control music, lighting and other features by voice control. A sound system and ambient lighting contribute to creating a pleasant atmosphere in an instant. Commands such as “Hey Mercedes, what is the weather going to be like?” or “Hey Mercedes, please wake me up tomorrow morning at 8.30 a.m.!” can be complied with easily. Furthermore, the advanced control unit, in short ACU, also allows you to regulate the temperature.

A foretaste of the future of camping.

Apart from the smart operation of all devices, the Concept Marco Polo is equipped with other technical highlights. Do you expect spontaneous overnight guests? Using voice commands, you can quickly convert your bench into a comfortable double bed. Those of you who prefer dimmed lighting or want to get ready for bed without being disturbed, have the option of darkening the windscreens via remote control. And even adventurers get their money’s worth: They benefit from a levelled air suspension for uneven surfaces of up to 12 cm. The bike carrier of the Concept Marco Polo can as well transport e-bikes. Furthermore, they can be loaded quickly and easily by means of the integrated solar module. The equipment of the luxury motorhome is supplemented by an electrical awning with LED outdoor lighting. No cranking necessary, only a single command: “Hey Mercedes, extend the awning!” Just sit back and relax – the future will be comfortable.
