Fewer cities in the world share a history as rich as that of the German capital of Berlin. In addition to the many historical buildings, the streets of Berlin contain numerous historical highlights that also shape the face of the city with their many colors and designs. The photographer Linnart Unger runs the Instagram channel "Vans of Berlin” where he searches out classic vans with his camera. In cooperation with the channel, MYVAN presents the second part of the series, an image gallery of the Mercedes-Benz L 508. The numerous colors and shapes of the "Düsseldorf" van form a harmonious whole with the backdrop of the capital city and transport viewers back into another time. The L 508 D was produced in Düsseldorf between 1968 and 1986 as a panel van, flatbed and tipper. Thanks to a “friendly face” and clear lines, the L 508 D continues to remain very popular today.

Various usages.

The van once used as an ambulance, construction vehicle or delivery vehicle for the German Post has become today a popular choice for a food truck or campervan. For example, the guys from Brandt & Levie Worstmakers have converted their L 508 into a mobile hotdog stand and are on the road throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. At the same time, the photographer Gerrit Sievert travels throughout Europe in his converted, blue L 508 D. Gerrit has fitted the van with a bed, a refrigerator and a gas stove. Travelling in his van in which he rarely goes faster than 85 km/h is pure relaxation for Gerrit. The Berliner especially appreciates the van’s spacious design and capable OM 314 engine.
