Out into the desert: through the Sahara with the Sprinter 4×4
Three Spanish adventurers cross the Sahara on motorcycles. A Sprinter 4×4 provides powerful support.
Battle against the elements
The Sahara. Three tiny dots amid an ocean of sand and rocks. David Borras and his “Desert Wolves” from the El Solitario motorcycle shop set out on a 4,000 kilometer long adventure through the world’s largest hot desert with their three Harley Davidsons and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 4×4.
El Solitario is a group of Spanish artists who create custom-designed motorcycles and handmade motorcycle clothing. Borras and his fellow adventurers have modified their machines specifically for this desert journey. They tackled the challenge of creating the perfect equipment for an off-road trip. Now their preparations are put to the test – under extreme conditions: The adventurers battle the constantly changing challenges of the merciless natural events such as sandstorms, the burning desert sun and freezing nights. Their route takes them on small paths and sealed roads, over sand dunes, past cliffs and through rivers of mud.
Support on four wheels
The adventurers need powerful support to overcome the Sahara’s hostile conditions. A large stock of food and spare parts is incredibly important when you are far from civilization. The Sprinter 316 4×4 has everything on board. Features such as its all-wheel drive make the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter a reliable companion capable of overcoming the unending challenges and supporting the “Wolves” on their expedition. Yet on their journey they still encounter unexpected difficulties such as the region’s poor fuel quality. However, they quickly solve this problem with the help of Mercedes-Benz Vans Spain. The Sprinter 4×4 provides essential support and helps to ensure that El Solitario’s off-road experiment is a success.
