Christian Adam is an adventurer, an ambitous climber and a professional photographer. Before becoming a freelance photographer, Christian studied photography in Santa Barbara and worked as a photo editor and first assistant for Chris Burkard – a world-renowned Californian photographer. Together with his girlfriend Ayla Arreguin, Christian now partly lives in a converted Sprinter van and travels through the United States. His work focuses on landcapes and outdoor sports.
The Sprinter perfectly combines Christian’s passion for photography with the need for mobility: the Sprinter enables Christian to travel to remote places and remain flexible in order to capture interesting light situations.
Christian appreciates both traveling in the Sprinter and also the ability to easily store his photography gear. His extensive camera equipment is safely stored in a drawer in the Sprinter’s kitchen. “Our van is powered by solar panels. Electricity is essential for me, as a photographer. I need it to power my laptop, camera and anything else in between,“ Christian explains. So nothing stands in the way for a photoshoot between rocks, at wild lakes or in the Californian desert.
The couple converted the Sprinter in collaboration with Townsend Travel Trailers. Especially high quality wood was used for features such as the interior cladding. The kitchenette with its stainless steel equipment also inspires the two passionate cooks. The material mix transforms the Sprinter into a miniature, mobile loft in which all of the available space is cleverly used. A dining table can be raised up from underneath the removable mattress in the back of the Sprinter.
Removable drawers underneath the bench seats provide storage space. "One of the reasons why we decided to convert the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is the high standard of quality. It was a lot of fun to convert a high quality vehicle", explains Christian's girlfriend Ayla.
