Music and employees – on the road in Argentina with the Vito
He transports musicians, managers – or his own employees. The entrepreneurial Marcelo Marzano from Argentina relies on a locally produced Mercedes-Benz Vito.
An oasis of music
The art deco style glass windows of the extension building are colourfully painted. Stickers from concerts or music groups are everywhere: the Ramones, Dead Kennedys, El Ultimo Verano. Photographs of famous faces greet you when you enter the room: Miles Davis at his peak, the young Paul McCartney with his typically boyish face, Zappa, Kurt Cobain (with pistol), Bowie, Prince. Crowning it all: a vinyl record cover from the hippie days showing the master himself: Jimi Hendrix. Next to it a concert photo with Ron Wood in a massive stadium. Naturally with a bottle of whiskey on the amplifier. The “Cesar Studio” in Bahia Blanca is an oasis of pop and rock located around 650 km south of Buenos Aires. The 14 musicians all have their own careers, some play klesmer and punk, others are part of a symphony orchestra. But they have also made a name for themselves as Pecadora (“The Sin”) and tour throughout Argentina.
On a concert tour with the Sprinter and Vito
This is where Marcelo Marzano comes into play. The bus entrepreneur transports the group throughout the entire country. Marzano owns 10 Sprinter for passenger transport. In addition, he also has a Vito in which he transports Pecadora’s instruments when the band is on tour. With his Tommy Hilfiger shirt, ironed jeans and tidy haircut, the 57-year-old seems like a complete contrast to the young and wild Pecadora musicians. He is probably the most normally dressed roadie you could imagine. However, he loves music and is a fan of the young group. And they love their fatherly supporter with the friendly eyes and a roguish twinkle. “I love Pecadora’s music and enjoy transporting the young musicians. We have been all over the country together”, explains Marcelo.
The Carango Food Truck was one of the first of its type in Rio de Janeiro. The Sprinter proved a successful business investment for its owner, Leandro Braga.

Reliable transport – for personal and business purposes
However, his main business is transporting employees from the major petrochemical companies in Bahia Blanca. In Argentina, transporting employees to their companies and back is common practice. This is the Sprinter’s job. During the holidays, he and his wife Marisa take the Vito and drive over the Andes to Chile. “At an altitude of 4,000 meters it is a good feeling to know that you are sitting in a Mercedes-Benz Vito. Even when I use the van professionally I cannot afford any breakdowns. That is why there is no alternative to Mercedes for me.” The fact that the Vito is now also built in Argentina in addition to the Sprinter was another incentive for him to purchase the mid-size van. Marcelo loves his country. That is why he also enjoys going on tour with Pecadora throughout the entire country.
